Yoga and Beyond at The Mindful Practice
At The Mindful Practice, we offer yoga as a gentle invitation—not just to move your body, but to come home to yourself. Our approach is grounded in the belief that yoga can be a powerful support for emotional wellbeing, nervous system balance, and deep inner awareness.
Our classes blend psychological Western insight, Traditional Eastern practice, and mindful movement to create space for rest, reconnection, and realignment—body, mind, and breath.
A Thoughtful Approach to Practice
Each class is carefully designed to meet you where you are. We use the body’s energy pathways (meridians) to guide the shape and flow of our sessions, so you’re not just stretching or strengthening—you’re soothing your system, tending to emotions, and cultivating presence. This isn’t about performance. It’s about support.

Yin Yoga
Yin is a slow, still practice that offers time to settle, soften, and listen inward. Postures are held for several minutes, targeting the fascia and deep connective tissues while gently working with the body’s energy channels.
These classes invite emotional release, physical ease, and the kind of quiet that’s often hard to find in daily life.
As Bernie Clark puts it: “We don’t use the body to get into the pose—we use the pose to get into the body.”
Yoga for Mental Health
These Yin-based sessions are created to support people navigating anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm.
Each class is themed around a particular emotional experience and sequenced with care, using both psychological theory and the meridian system to support balance and regulation.
With experience in the mental health field, we offer a safe, non-judgmental space where the body becomes a resource for healing.

Pranayama & Meditation
Breath is one of the most powerful tools we have for shifting our internal state.
These sessions explore simple but potent techniques to soothe the nervous system, using breathwork and meditation practices rooted in ancient yogic traditions and supported by neuroscience.
Rather than trying to “think your way” to calm, we help you feel your way there—using the body to create the conditions for ease, clarity, and self-awareness.
Vinyasa Flow
Our Vinyasa classes are dynamic and energising—but always grounded in breath, presence, and intention. Expect flowing sequences that build strength and mobility, while encouraging focus and emotional release.
What makes these sessions special is the use of curated music to enhance the rhythm and feeling of the flow. Each playlist is chosen to deepen your connection to the practice—whether you're moving through challenge, release, or stillness.

One-to-One Yoga Sessions
Sometimes, the most meaningful work happens in a one-to-one space.
We offer private sessions tailored to your physical and emotional needs—whether you're working with anxiety, low mood, fatigue, or simply want a practice that's just for you.
These sessions may include Yin, Vinyasa, breathwork, and meditation, with time to share what’s on your mind so we can shape the practice together.
Please note: While our teachers are trained and experienced in mental health, these sessions are not a substitute for therapy—but they can be a beautiful complement to it.
